A family affair for Cambridge house hunters

House hunting in Cambridge has turned into a family affair for Tim and Charlotte Coomber. After buying a new home in Haling Place, Waterbeach, the couple have since seen their parents and friends buy a home there too!

The couple had been keen to move out of their Cambridge apartment and find a spacious home with a garden. Tim, a transmission manager for BT, comments: “Our friends moved to Haling Place first and when we visited them we saw how lovely the properties were, so we decided to look into buying a home there. Since then my parents have bought a house as well as some of our other friends! I used to live in the area and I know it well, so it’s really nice to live here again.”

Tim and Charlotte are very happy that they have now found a spacious home. Charlotte, a community staff nurse, says: “We can see ourselves living here for a long time especially now that we have the space to start a family.  The house is in an ideal location as we are both still close to work which is brilliant. We have always wanted a dog and now that we have a garden we are looking forward to playing with our new puppy!”

There are two local schools in the area; Waterbeach Community Primary School and Cottenham Village College, making it a popular choice for families of all ages.  The Haling Way, which offers a pleasant cycling path into Cambridge, is easily accessed from the development.

Waterbeach’s extensive transport connections also make it an ideal location for commuters. There is easy access to the nearby A10, and the railway station provides a direct service to Cambridge, with journey times approximately seven minutes, and to London King’s Cross in just over an hour.
