Young couple Beth Cook and Tom Laland had their heart set on buying their first home in Hitchin, their hometown. But they soon discovered the ever-increasing prices were making it almost impossible to get on the property ladder. So they decided to expand their search and look further afield. It was the best decision they’ve ever made.
The couple soon discovered a gem of a house in our Mayflower Park development in Henlow. “We looked at the pros and cons of moving slightly further away,” explains Beth. “And it quickly became apparent that living in Henlow would only enhance our quality of life.” Buying your first home is daunting, so we made sure we were there every step of the way for Tom and Beth. We put them in touch with a mortgage advisor who gave them all the support and advice they needed. We’d also given the house a light refurbishment, so Beth and Tom could move straight in. The couple are settling in to a new friendly community with so many amenities and transport links on their doorstep.
“Mayflower Park itself is such a find,” Beth told us. “It's so nice and quiet but close enough to walk to the local shop and the train station.
