The number of business trips is on the rise across all generations, but millennials are leading the way, hitting the road an average of 7.7 times annually*. As millennials continue to advance in their careers and look set to take more trips than any other generation in the future (8.6 in the next 12 months, which is an 11 per cent increase) *, secure homes are becoming more of a priority for today’s young new homebuyers.
Stuart Murdoch (37), a Financial Controller for a pharmaceutical company, is one of this growing army of frequent business travellers; regularly travelling to Switzerland, Dubai and India with work. When deciding on his next home, he wanted to be able to lock up and leave his home and car safely.
Stuart has just bought a three-bedroom property at Annington’s Southside Close development in Uxbridge, west London. Conveniently, the house, which sits behind gates, is also situated less than 15 minutes by car from Heathrow airport, and 40 minutes on the tube into central London.
Stuart comments: “I was living nearby in Uxbridge already, as my office is just down the road, but wanted to upsize from my two-bedroom apartment to the next grade up; a house with a garden. In Uxbridge, there aren’t many mid-sized houses that come on the market at a reasonable price, but Southside Close offered the right size properties with a modern design and all the latest gadgets, within my budget.
Stuart continues: “I am away at least one week every two months with work, as I manage a remote team out in India, and I also go on quite a few holidays a year. The fact that Southside Close has security gates was a big appeal. It is nice to know that I can leave my car in a safe, reserved car parking zone too.
