New community blossoms at Mayflower Green
Mayflower Green, a popular new development near Henlow, is already developing a growing sense of community thanks to the blossoming friendships between first residents who moved in last month.
The homes, which first launched for sale in November 2014, have proven popular with a range of buyers including young families, first time buyers and downsizers, a combination which has helped contribute to the friendly, welcoming atmosphere.
Nicola Shadwell and Shane Hill, young first time buyers who purchased a home in Mayflower Green to start life as a family with their baby son Joshua, have already become great friends with a family of a similar age next door; Joanne Gilbey, James Martin and their daughter Renaé.
Nicola comments: “We really like Henlow; it is such a lovely village with good school links which will be perfect as Joshua gets older. We’ve met some really friendly people since moving to Mayflower Green, particularly our neighbours Joanne, James and their baby Renaé, who is a similar age to Joshua. It’s so nice having them just next door and it’s lovely that we can do things as a group with our kids. Buying our first home was exciting enough but to have made such great friends here has made the experience really special.”
Nicola and Shane’s house has given them the space they need as a new family and they are currently looking forward to having their first summer in their home. Shane says: “Having a garden is going to be great when our little boy grows up and in the summer it means we can have our family and new friends over for BBQs. We are all looking forward to many happy times ahead here and we can picture ourselves living here for a long time.”
House hunters looking to join the growing community will be delighted to know that further homes will be released this summer. Angela Walsh, Head of Sales and Marketing at Annington, explains: “Mayflower Green is a lovely development of homes and we’re delighted to have welcomed a range of new residents including young families and first time buyers. The terraced layout of the development makes it really sociable - there is often people chatting outside and it is a lovely place to have young children thanks to the spacious green adjacent to the homes.”
She continues: “All properties have undergone extensive refurbishment, including new kitchens and bathrooms, and it’s easy to see why they have been in such high demand. To date we have had three launches, which have all proven very popular. This summer we will be releasing a further range of homes and we expect similar levels of demand, so we encourage all interested parties to register their interest to avoid disappointment.”
Mayflower Green is set amongst the beautiful landscape of rural Bedfordshire. Residents benefit from excellent local road and rail transport connections. Arlesey Station, which offers commuters a direct train service to London King’s Cross in less than 40 minutes, is a four mile drive from the development. The village is well served by a range of schools, including Raynsford VC Lower School, Stondon Lower School and Meppershall Church of England Academy. The local pub, The Bird in Hand is a ten minute walk away.
