Commuting is now easy for young professionals at Mayflower Green
Location was key for Alex Jones and Kirsty Williams when they decided to buy their first home together.
The couple, who both commute to work by car, needed to find a home that was central to London and St Albans. Kirsty, a Sports Development Manager, comments: “I had been living in a two bedroom property in Stevenage and Alex lived with his parents in Flitwick with his parents. We have been together for nearly six years now and we wanted to make a home together, but we needed to find somewhere that would be convenient for our work.”
Once they had a general location in mind, the couple discovered Mayflower Green; a new development of refurbished homes close to Henlow Village. The homes have new kitchens and bathrooms as well as allocated parking spaces and a spacious communal green.
After viewing the properties during a sales open day, they were sure that they had found the right home for them. Kirsty continues: “Once we saw the properties at Mayflower Green it didn’t feel right to live together anywhere else. Our home has the scope for us both to put our mark on it and it was great to make all of the creative decisions together. We are thrilled that we’ve been able to find our first home together.”
Importantly for the couple, their new home provides a convenient commute for them both. Alex, a Bid Manager, notes: “We are very happy and settled at Mayflower Green. There’s plenty of space for the two of us as well as our new puppy. We are also now a lot closer to work which makes our commute very pleasant. We’ve met some lovely people so far and it’s an added bonus that Kirsty is closer to her hockey team in Milton Keynes!”
As first time buyers the couple found the purchase process hassle free. Alex says: “It's important to feel slightly looked after on a first time buy because everything is so new; the process you have to go through isn't easy and it can take some time waiting for exchange and completion. Annington has accommodated our needs, and we have settled in very quickly.”
Kirsty and Alex have joined a growing number of new owners at the development, and a vibrant community is already taking shape. Angela Walsh, Head of Sales and Marketing at Annington, explains: “We are delighted that people like Kirsty and Alex are enjoying life at Mayflower Green. We have created a range of quality, refurbished properties and enhanced the surrounding green spaces, and we are very proud to have fostered a new community in the area.”
Looking to the future Alex and Kirsty expect to stay for some time in their new home. Kirsty concludes: “A first home together is always going to be special, and it's such a beautiful home we want to stay here as long as practically possible.”« Back to testimonials page
