Annington Homes became one of the largest private owners of residential property in the UK when it purchased the Married Quarters Estate from the Ministry of Defence (MoD) in 1996. Annington leases the majority of its properties back to the MoD to provide accommodation for service families.
When the MoD decides that homes are surplus to its requirement, they are handed back to Annington to sell or to rent. This arrangement creates a unique opportunity, as we are often able to sell and rent homes in areas previously unavailable to the general public.
Annington is one of the largest providers of privately rented housing in the UK. Annington owns over 40,000 homes with an asset value of over £7 billion.
Over the years we have helped over 17,000 people buy a home from Annington, including thousands of service personnel, first time buyers and key workers. The range of incentives offered has helped to ease the transition to home ownership.
We have also let 1,000s of homes to private individuals, giving us the track record, management expertise and operating platform to support our core goals.
Annington was acquired by the private equity firm Terra Firma Capital Partners in 2012.
