New residents at The Crescent development in Carterton were finally able to meet their new neighbours following the end of lockdown restrictions at the first ‘Cressie Ressie’, a community celebration event organised by residents on the open green space at the development, on Saturday 31st July.
To celebrate the end of building works on The Crescent, which launched in 2019, Cressie Ressie saw residents gather for an afternoon of fun, with a bouncy castle, face painting, live music, entertainment and refreshments. Annington, the company responsible for building the new homes at the development, sponsored the event with a donation to cover the costs of a Hog Roast and BBQ, alongside an ice cream van for all 300 residents to enjoy.
Louise Saunders, Sales and Marketing Manager at Annington, comments: “It is always slightly bittersweet when we come to the end of development, however it is very special to see the legacy of our work continue here in our new happy residents. There is already such a strong sense of community at The Crescent, and the Cressie Ressie event was a fantastic opportunity for neighbours to finally get to know each other after the easing of lockdown restrictions.”

With most of the residents having moved in during lockdown, or with social restrictions in place, we've never had the opportunity to meet each other properly before now. The Cressie Ressie was a great way to bring everyone together, and hopefully will become a regular event which will continue for years to come.”
The 135 new homes at The Crescent by Annington are located on the site of former MOD housing, connected to RAF Brize Norton in Carterton.
