Outdoor space at Blackdown Preschool in Mindenhurst, Surrey has been transformed with the help of Annington, creating a refreshed play and educational area for its students to enjoy.
A team of volunteers from Oakleaf, the appointed contractors by Annington, provided paint and supplies, while refurbishing the existing equipment and area. Annington also donated a brand-new mud kitchen providing an interactive experience for students to learn and develop their creativity and motor skills, and a shed to increase available storage for toys and sports equipment.
The project forms part of Annington’s ongoing commitment to supporting the local communities around their housing developments. Annington is currently working to transform over 200 homes in the new village of Mindenhurst as part of its wider regeneration.
Stacy Whitehead, Marketing Manager at Annington, said: “We believe in creating more than just homes and want to support the close-knit, thriving community in Mindenhurst, as we work to transform these homes and deliver this exciting long-term regeneration project. Our team was proud to volunteer in supporting Blackdown Preschool, particularly as the school is on the doorstep of our current works. We understand the importance of outdoor play to support self-esteem, creativity and confidence, and we hope that the pupils will enjoy their new equipment for many years to come.”
Deputy Manager at Blackdown Preschool, Steph, said: “We’re very thankful for the generosity from Annington, the donation of the mud kitchen and the team volunteering their time and hard work for the children is greatly appreciated. Sensory play is such an important part of early learning and is key for early childhood development, so we’re always looking for ways to get the children outside the classroom. The improvements to the outside area have created an exciting new space which the pupils are encouraged to explore.”
Annington’s rental homes on Malta Road in Mindenhurst are expected to be available from 21st November, with prices starting from £1,850 pcm.
