Annington, the company responsible for refurbishing former MOD homes in the newly regenerated borough of Hounslow in West London, has donated new equipment to Beavers Community Primary School for its Outdoor Play and Learning (OPAL) classes.
Annington’s donation will help Beavers Community Primary School to deliver its OPAL programme, which focuses on enhancing the quality of play opportunities for pupils to improve attitudes, behaviour and development. With this in mind, Annington has provided the school with a donation of £400 to purchase a range of items to facilitate outdoor learning, including litter pickers, wellington boots and outdoor overalls. These supplies will assist in learning outside of the classroom, while also generating a group of environmentally conscious students.
Ms Sarah Smith, Headteacher at Beavers Community Primary School, commented: “Our outdoor play and learning programme has already transformed lunchtimes and we are really excited to be on this journey. The programme helps children develop many essential skills which are key for their education. We were in desperate need of some new resources, so the donation from Annington couldn’t have come at a better time! The pupils, parents and teachers are very grateful for the kit, which will put to great use by children of all ages in the school.”
