Annington has donated £5,000 to Harrogate Homeless Project, supporting the charity’s work to provide safe accommodation and vital help to people experiencing homelessness across the Harrogate district in North Yorkshire.
The £5,000 donation from Annington comes at an important time for the Harrogate Homeless Project, following a full renovation of its hostel on Bower Street. The refurbishment has transformed all 16 bedrooms with new furniture, bedding, décor, blinds, and lampshades throughout. Annington’s donation will support the ongoing maintenance of five bedrooms at the hostel for the next year, ensuring the recently renovated rooms remain comfortable and welcoming, as well as warm and safe.
The Charity provides wraparound assistance through coordinated care and emergency housing to people experiencing homelessness or housing insecurity. Alongside its hostel, the charity operates self-contained flats, move-on properties, and a day centre.
The charity has been working in the Harrogate area for 35 years, providing thousands of nights of one-to-one support and practical care every year. In 2025 alone, Harrogate Homeless Project provided 11,612 nights of accommodation, welcomed 7,734 visits to its day centre and supported 90 people to achieve positive move-ons into secure longer-term accommodation.
The team are determined to keeping people safe, having facilitated 330 GP visits, served 5,890 meals and provided 285 showers.
Residents have access to 24-hour staffing and one-to-one caseworkers who provide tailored support for finances, mental health, and relationships.
Nicola Ridgway, Fundraising and Marketing Manager at Harrogate Homeless Project, said: “Having access to a clean, comfortable and welcoming room can make a huge difference to someone at a difficult time, helping to restore dignity, confidence and a sense of security. Our bedroom sponsorship initiative is a fantastic example of how local businesses can directly support our work and make a tangible difference to people's lives.
“We are extremely thankful to Annington for their generosity and commitment to helping us provide the best possible environment for those who need our support."
Stacy Whitehead, Marketing Manager at Annington, said: “Harrogate Homeless Project are doing incredible work giving vulnerable people a safe place to stay and supporting them as they move towards a more secure future.
