Area Guide

Walter’s Ash is located less than five miles from the market town of High Wycombe in Buckinghamshire. Surrounded by countryside, the area is an idyllic rural retreat, with many local walks and quaint country pubs.

The area benefits from excellent local transport connections. Saunderton rail station is approximately 2.5 miles away and offers direct services to London Marylebone (41 minutes). High Wycombe station offers direct services to London (35 minutes), Birmingham (1 hour 33 minutes) as well as onward services to Oxford and Reading. Junction 4 of the M40 for London is approximately 6.5 miles away, and the M4 can be reached via the A404 for Junction 8.

High Wycombe offers a range of excellent shopping options, with a number of independent boutiques. Designer stores can be found at the Eden Shopping Centre, which has over one hundred stores to choose from alongside restaurants, a bowling alley and a cinema.

The town centre is home to beautiful Georgian architecture, including Little Market House and the stunning Guildhall. There has been a market in the high street since medieval times which offers local farmer's produce and goods for sale.

The immediate village is served by Naphill and Walter’s Ash Primary School. High Wycombe offers a number of outstanding options for secondary education, including Wycombe High School and the Royal Grammar School.

Local attractions include Hughendon Manor (3.2 miles), the grand 18th century West Wycombe Park country house (4 miles) and The Hellfire Caves (3.7 miles), a network of man-made chalk and flint caverns which extend a quarter of a mile underground.
