The junior players at Uxbridge Cricket Club will sport new caps this season, after Annington donated £1400 to provide 200 of them for the club’s Colts.
The donation is the second time that Annington has offered its support to the club, following a similar donation in 2015.
The company has been keen to support the local community while it builds a new development of eight homes just off Honeycroft Hill, named Southside Close. Sally Parsons, Property Director at Annington, explains: “We believe that it is vital to help the local communities in which we build our new homes and it is a great pleasure to support the Colts again this summer. The club is exceptionally well run and attended by many within the community. We wish them every success for the rest of the season.”
John Somerville-Hendrie, Chairman at Uxbridge Colts Cricket Club, added: “We have 200 Colts playing in our junior teams, and every year we depend on commercial support within the community to ensure our playing equipment and facilities are kept to a high standard. We’re absolutely delighted with Annington’s ongoing support for the club, and this donation means that all junior players can have their own Uxbridge CC cap at no cost to them or their families.”
Uxbridge Cricket Club was founded in 1789 has a large roster of junior members, or ‘Colts’. Teams range from Under 10 years old, to Under 17 years old, and a number of junior players graduate each year for selection in the adult squads.
Properties at Southside Close will be available to buy off plan this summer. As well as being set in an exclusive gated development with private parking, the contemporary and stylish three and four bedroom homes also benefit from a fantastic central location, moments from the town centre.
