Moving to the country to escape the stresses of town life was an easy decision for Terri Dennington-Jones and she’s delighted to have found her ideal new home at Annington’s rural Badersfield development, in Norfolk.
Terri, who works as a midwife at Norwich University hospital, commented: “I was living in Sprowston on the outskirts of Norwich in a very large house with my two children. I was tired of the noisy street we lived on and realised I didn’t need the amount of space we had, so decided to look for somewhere smaller in the country.
“My sister’s friend recommended Annington's Badersfield development and when I visited, I knew it was the place for me. Set in a quiet and peaceful location with lots of open spaces, the development is much closer to my work. I have bought a three bedroom semi-detached house with a good sized garden and I love it. It is just the right size for us and is really warm in the winter.”
Formerly known as RAF Coltishall, the Badersfield development boasts a selection of properties that have proven extremely popular since the site’s launch in 2007, with over 400 properties sold to date. Surrounded by the picturesque countryside for which Norfolk is famous and located approximately 12 miles from both Norwich city centre and approximately 14 miles from the village of Happisburgh on the Norfolk coast, residents can enjoy three very different environments within approximately a half-hour drive, making the development an ideal location for a wide variety of house hunters.
Terri continued: “The children are very happy in their new home; both attend the local Coltishall primary school which has a great reputation and there is a local shop and pub on the development, which is handy. The area has a nice community atmosphere and everyone has made us feel really welcome.”
The homes provide good-sized living accommodation with front and rear gardens and a car parking space or garage. The development offers a strong community atmosphere, with the Residents’ Association having been very involved in the renaming of the site to Badersfield, in recognition of the renowned war hero and fighter pilot Sir Douglas Bader, who was based there in the 1940s.
Terri added: “I always knew that I would eventually move to the country and I am so pleased with my choice. When I look out of my window I see fields and greenery, it is such a great place to live."
