RETIREE FINDS HAPPY HOME AT BEAUFORT GREEN
Having lived in her family home for 55 years, Iris Perry, 82, surprised friends and family with her decision to move into a new two bedroom apartment at Annington’s Beaufort Green development, Uxbridge.
Iris, a retired nurse, was adamant that she would stay in her large four bedroom family home in Hayes, where she brought up her three children. However, whilst helping her daughter and son-in-law to look for a property in Uxbridge, she discovered Annington’s Beaufort Green development.
Iris comments: “I had lived in my old house for so many years, and I was determined not to move out, despite everyone telling me it was too large for one person. I was also reluctant to leave behind the many happy memories that I had shared there with my family. However, moving to my new home has given me a new lease of life and an opportunity to make new memories, and I haven't stopped smiling since I moved in.”
Iris has immediately settled in to her spacious two bedroom ground floor apartment, and has decided to turn the second bedroom into a separate dining room so she can entertain her large family. Only two weeks after moving in she hosted her children and six grandchildren for Easter Sunday.
Iris says: “I have always loved entertaining and my new flat is the perfect size for a party. It is also lovely that my friends are able to get here so easily and I can also walk into town and to the local library.”
