Husband and wife David and Iona Reece are among the thousands of city dwellers every year in England making their dream a reality by going in search of wide-open spaces, fresh air and a healthy place to raise their children.
Fulfilling their ambition to live in the countryside, David and Iona have recently moved from their one bedroom rented apartment in the centre of Cambridge to a three bedroom house in Haling Place, Waterbeach, with exciting plans to start a family.
David commented: “After looking at so many other two and three bedroom properties in the villages around Cambridge, none of them were able to match what Haling Place had to offer. Annington’s properties were far more spacious than anything else we saw as well as being finished to a high standard and in a great location. We are now able to enjoy the surrounding countryside whilst at the same time being only a short commute to work in Cambridge. We have finally found a perfect work life balance and we couldn’t be happier.”
David and Iona’s new house has given the space they need to have a family in the future. They are currently enjoying furnishing their three bedroom mid terraced house with furniture they have collected from their travels. All the Haling Place properties have undergone extensive external and internal refurbishment, with new kitchens and bathrooms fitted in all of the homes. The recent sunny weather has also given them the opportunity to enjoy their good sized garden.
Iona, commented: “Having a garden is a real novelty for us coming from the town centre where outside space comes at an unaffordable premium. The house itself was finished to a high standard and we are both really looking forward to many happy summers here and inviting our friends over for BBQs.”
Angela Walsh, Head of Sales and Marketing at Annington, explains: “Annington has invested both time and money into the refurbishment of these homes. We wanted to breathe new life into the development to create a fresh and welcoming atmosphere, and that is exactly what we have achieved. The homes at Waterbeach appeal to purchasers looking for a home that is ready to move into in a commutable location to Cambridge. We are looking forward to our next launch in June and welcoming a new set of home owners to this growing community.”
Haling Place is ideally located in a rural location whilst being within easy reach of local amenities. Waterbeach High Street offers a selection of shops, cafes and pubs, as well as a library, whilst Cambridge provides a greater choice of shopping, dining and entertainment options. There are two local schools in the area; Waterbeach Community Primary School Cottenham Village College, making it an ideal location for families with children of all ages.
Iona added: “We have been very happy by the service we received from Annington. The friendly sales staff made us feel valued and had a personal approach that we appreciated throughout the buying process. I would encourage anyone looking for a property around the Waterbeach area to consider an Annington property.”
