Coningsby is a peaceful rural village 20 miles south east of Lincoln on the banks of the River Bain, with a population of just over 3000 people.

The village takes its name from the Welsh 'cwningen' meaning 'Rabbit's' town. Coningsby is bordered by the Lincolnshire Wolds on one side and the Fens on the other. At its western end Coningsby is separated from the village of Tattershall by the river. Although a rural area, Coningsby is well serviced, with a post office, bank, supermarket, chemist and garage located in the village, as well as a local butcher, grocer and florist. The facilities and restaurants of Woodhall Spa are also is just five miles away.

The village is overseen by the impressive tower of St Michael's Church, with its unique one handed clock dial. The Royal Air Force is the largest employer in the area, with RAF Coningsby half a mile to the south of the village. Coningsby is also home to the famous Battle of Britain Memorial Flight.   

Transport in Coningsby

Coningsby is connected by bus to all local towns in the area. The main road between Horncastle and Sleaford (A153) is 8 miles away. Sleaford is the nearest main line train station, with direct services running to Skegness, Nottingham, Peterborough and Lincoln.
