In recognition of the company's origins, the Annington Trust was established in 1996 for the benefit of families living in Services' communities, with the objective of sponsoring community activities and projects.  The Trust derives its income from a capital fund that was set up at the time the MQE was purchased in 1996.  Since then, the Trustees, who include the Chairmen of the three Services’ Families Federations, have disbursed £315K to support 381 projects.  These have varied in size from small grants of a few hundred pounds for pre-school activities, youth organisations and sports clubs, to major awards of several thousands of pounds to provide much needed support for families at a time when the Services are heavily engaged in overseas operations.
