Boulmer is a village located on the North Sea coast in Northumberland, just west of the historical town of Alnwick. The name Boulmer derives from Bulemer, from the old English bulan-mere (bulls mere).

Boulmer was historically notorious for its smuggling activities, much of the illicit trade taking place at the local public house, the Fishing Boat Inn.  The village has a life-boat station, crewed by the B.V.R.S.
