Catterick is a village in North Yorkshire.  It is often referred to as ‘Catterick Village’ to distinguish it from the nearby Catterick Garrison, which is reported to be the largest army base in Europe.  The village has a population of around 2,750.

It is situated on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales and close to the delights of the North Yorkshire Moors. The coast is only about an hours drive away, as is the beautiful Lake District.  Also within about an hour you can reach the bustling city of Newcastle, the Metro Centre at Gateshead and the historic cities of York and Leeds. Closer to Catterick are the market towns of Darlington, Richmond and Northallerton.
